Scripture Is Sacred

The Bible is one of the most printed books. It has been translated in many languages. Scripture is definitely a world renowned book.

Although popular, the Bible transcends all other works. Scripture communicates God’s Word to us. It reveals who God is and how we can know Him.

In a world full of trends, the Bible is here to stay. It is not just a collection of nice thoughts and stories. The Bible is inspired by God (2 Tim 3:16). It reveals His Word of truth, which is the good news of our salvation from sin (Eph 1:13).

Scripture is perfectly right and set apart from all other literature. It is sacred. Sweet.

The law of the Lord is perfect
and preserves one’s life.
The rules set down by the Lord are reliable
and impart wisdom to the inexperienced.
The Lord’s precepts are fair
and make one joyful.
The Lord’s commands are pure
and give insight for life.
The commands to fear the Lord are right
and endure forever.
The judgments given by the Lord are trustworthy
and absolutely just.
They are of greater value than gold,
than even a great amount of pure gold;
they bring greater delight than honey,
than even the sweetest honey from a honeycomb. (Psalm 19:7-10 NET)

Scripture is special. It is sacred. It glorifies God. And it shares how you can have eternal life in His Son Jesus.

The Bible Is Illuminating

Like a Maglite in a dark forest, God’s Word illumines our path. It reveals dangers. It provides comforting light. It shows us where to walk.

The Bible guides us. It shows us where the danger points are. Those icky sinful areas to guard against.

Scripture points us toward God. It reveals who He is. And how to grow in our relationship with Him.

And when something gets in the way between us and God, the Bible signals an S.O.S. It encourages us to confess whatever sin is in the way so we can draw close to Him. Scripture always moves us toward the Light of the world.

The psalmist pens:

Your word is a lamp to walk by,
and a light to illumine my path. (Psalm 119:105 NET)

How encouraging it is to know we have a light to walk by in God’s Word. We have His teachings to guide us. We have His encouragement to continue our spiritual journey in the power of His Spirit.

The Bible and Your Baby

Your baby is wonderful. Uniquely created by God. His frame was woven together in his mom’s womb. God even ordained all the days he would spend on this earth.

Reflecting on this truth brings encouragement. How many have questioned our looks, abilities, or personality? If only I were… (Fill in the blank.) We compare ourselves with others.

But Scripture says:

Certainly you made my mind and heart;
you wove me together in my mother’s womb.
I will give you thanks because your deeds are awesome and amazing.
You knew me thoroughly;
my bones were not hidden from you,
when I was made in secret
and sewed together in the depths of the earth.
Your eyes saw me when I was inside the womb.
All the days ordained for me
were recorded in your scroll
before one of them came into existence.
How difficult it is for me to fathom your thoughts about me, O God!
How vast is their sum total! (Psalm 139:13-17 NET)

Reading the psalmist’s words reminds us our children were sewed together according to God’s will. They each reflect His handiwork. They are created in His image. You are too.

Because of God’s Word we know He created us wonderfully and for that we thank Him.

Bible Fun Toolbox Tip: What's the Big Deal

By Matt Rodriguez

Bible Fun is a big deal!

Do you make decisions without guidance? Do you wish you had a road map to help you navigate your life? Or are you like most of us who rely on the advice of friends and personal preferences?

Tired of wishy-washy decision making and need something more reliable? If so, the Bible will provide the guidance you have been searching for. And Bible Fun Toolbox Tips will help you learn how to observe, interpret, and apply God’s Word to your life.

If you’re like most, the Bible collects dust on your bookshelf. It seems old, out-of-touch, and dry. How can something written thousands of years ago relate to me? These valid questions demand a response. This series will address these concerns.

Or how about time? Do you find yourself beat-tired at the end of your workday? Does the thought of waking up earlier to read the Bible make you noxious? Our modern pace of life seems to make Bible reading impossible but Bible Fun Toolbox Tips will help you make the most of your time.

Perhaps you question the accuracy of the Bible. Is what we have reliable or are there contradictions? How can we be sure the books of the Bible we currently have reflect the words of the original authors who penned them? This series will help put to rest these reservations.

The Bible is God’s Word to You

Have you ever questioned if God was listening to you? Ever want a response from Him? Ever pray but don’t get answers?

Did you know God wants to speak with you through His Word, the Bible. That’s right. The Bible is God’s primary way of talking with you. It’s His way to give you answers to your questions.

Some may think the Bible is old. Like some stale bread, they find old testament regulations out of touch with reality. But a look at the Bible reveals it is actually living and active (Heb 4:12). It’s wisdom and instructions are up-to-date and current.

And the Bible’s principles and guidance have stood the test of time. They are not a fad. Like a mature redwood in Big Sur, Scripture towers above all other sources of self-help. The Bible points us toward heaven, toward God. It’s His Word to us.

The Bible is inspired by God (2 Tim 3:16-17). It is God-breathed. It’s not a collection of ancient rambling by smart people, but a treasure trove of truths from God Himself. He speaks to us through His biblical writers. He uses messengers to deliver answers to questions we have about who He is, who we are, and how we are to connect with Him and each other.
