I was driven from men and ate grass like oxen.
—King Nebuchadnezzar (6th Cent. BC)
Oh Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, how did you blow it? You once enjoyed royal delicacies. But now you chew on wild grass in the fields. Tell Me, where did you go wrong?
When I failed to help the poor, turned and walked away.
I thought I was superior, the one they hailed as king.
When I stood about my royal porch, and lifted up my eyes.
Is not this great Babylon, that I built by my might?
