Shock

shock

It’s a nice day today.

While waiting for the next metro car, I notice the blue sky.

I see the next car full of people. Finally.

Who’s that? Seems timid – sincere.

I introduce myself and discover he’s military waiting for his dad to pick him up.

We get into a metro car and sit down on the bright-orange seats.

“Never read the bible? Are you kiddin!” He’s for real.

My forehead wrinkles and mouth opens.

“Wanna hear it?” Still can’t believe it.

The bible falls to the floor while life inside the metro keeps going.

  1. Malia,

    Great point. Here’s the backstory…

This story was a dream I had. In the dream, I was at a metro stop – similar to the ones in Washington, DC. I was outside on a platform waiting for the metro rail. I saw a young man approach and decided to talk to him. I found out that he was in the military. His dad was going to pick him up from the metro stop.

During our conversation, I discovered he had never read the bible – it was foreign to him. I remember feeling sad in my dream. I was completely shocked and wanted to share the wonderful truths that I benefited from. So I asked him if he wanted me to read the bible to him.

Then, all of a sudden, the dream had us go into a metro car and sit down. I was about to read the bible but it fell down onto the floor. I’m not sure why but it did – hence dream logic. So, I decided to use this part of the dream to support my belief that life continues as Scripture is unread. This should spur Christians to share biblical principles with others. Why? Because it’s not fair to hoard all that good stuff and not share it with others.

    Sincerely,

    Matt

  2. Very interesting story! But I’m curious about the last line – did someone literally drop a Bible, or did he reject the offer to hear to it? Let me know! Thank you!
